The team began as the Appleton Foxes in 1958, although their history can be traced as far back as 1909. They are now an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers MLB team. The Rattlers are a community owned Baseball Club and play at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton's northwest side in the town of Grand Chute. Notable alumni include Cal Ripken Sr and Jr, David Ortiz, Félix Hernández and Alex Rodriguez as well as HoF Pat Gillick, Goose Gossage and Earl Weaver.
