Their heritage can be traced back to 1903 in LA and after several moves and relocations, the Chihuahuas are currently based in El Paso, Texas and are an affiliate of the San Diego Padres MLB team. The name is a reference to the bordering Mexican State of Chihuahua and the team logo, naturally, is a Chihuahua dog. Notable alumni include Cody Decker, Carlos Quentin, Carlos González and Cory Spangenberg.
